Job Description WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Under general supervision, supports the engineering functions for a product or a product family from design through production and transfer.
- Communicates with other engineering functions including design, process, production, quality, and reliability.
- Analyzes production methods to ensure time and cost goals are reached.
- Creates design specifications for a variety of components and systems. Analyzes design problems using engineering and mathematical principles.
- Makes design changes and prepares preliminary sketches for guidance of layout drafters.
- Consults with other engineers concerning design specifications, manufacturing processes, legal, safety, and government requirements.
- Requires at least 3 years of experience in related industry.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software such as Windchill.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Experience with analytical and CAD software, preferred.
